Originally built in 1974, the Scales Mound Fire Station is the first station of the Scales Mound Fire Protection District. Firefighters of Station 1 respond to fire, EMS and other emergencies for the entire Scales Mound Fire Protection District. When requested, Station 1 responds for mutual aid (MABAS) with neighboring fire and EMS agencies.

Rescue 930 is a heavy rescue equipped with ground ladders, air tanks, air tank refill, hyrdaulic rescue tools, hand tools, and a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) kit.

Dive Team Truck 934

934 is the vehicle used by the Scales Mound Fire Protection District's specially trained Dive Team for underwater search, rescue and recovery.


Brush Truck (Wildland Engine) 940

Brush Truck (Wildland Engine) 940

Brush Truck 940 is a type 6 wildland engine equipped with a 300 gallon water tank, a cab-controlled monitor (externally mounted nozzle), wildland tools, and forestry handlines. 940 can engage uncontrolled fires in fields, greenspace, prairie and forests. The truck can also assist refilling tankers from ponds, lakes, and other reservoirs during structural firefighting operations.


Command/EMS Support Vehicle 931

Command/EMS Support Vehicle 931

Command Vehicle 931 can be used by the Chief and other incident command officers during firefighting operations. 931 is equipped and also supports rescue trucks on Emergency Medical Service (EMS) response.


Maintenance Vehicle 951

Maintenance Vehicle 951

Scales Mound Fire Protection District's maintenance vehicle is used by personnel in maintaining the district's three stations and all firefighting apparatus.


Ranger 970

Ranger 970

970 is a specialized Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) equipped for rescuing victims on trails or in remote areas and also for wildland firefighting operations; 970 is equipped with forestry handlines, a small pump, and a 60 gallon water tank.
